After much research I decided to purchase a 2" memory foam topper. I chose the Sensus based on the reviews from others and the fact that this topper is a 5lb density. What a difference, my bed went from just OK to fantastic. I did not notice a smell that others complained about and this topper has made a huge difference in getting a good nights sleep.

I also did a lot of research before spending $250 of my hard earned money. My goal is to eventually purchase a memory foam matress, as my spring matress is 10+ years old and getting uncomfortable. The topper was an improvement. I am lightweight and felt that two inch thickness would be sufficient. I don't feel the spring matress through the topper which was about all I was expecting. The initial smell was overwhelming for two nights; I only aired it out for a few hours in another room. It felt very firm for about a week; now I notice it is much more giving and the smell was not noticeable after several nights of use. This is not the same as having a pillowtop mattress/topper, which is luxuriously comfortable, but not supportive. I can lay on my back without a severe strain since my legs stay more elevated with the memory foam. Otherwise, I did not see any change in my sleep habits, which were already pretty good.
