I recently bought something similar on [popular auction site] and was very pleased with it. They were sold out of the 3 inchers when I went to get another for my bed, so I searched and finally ended up getting one of these. I wish I would have waited for the others to come back in stock. This pad is softer and should be cheaper than it is. That being said, by the time I stretched my fitted sheet tightly over it and the worn pillow-top mattress, that made it seem slightly more firm.

Our mattress sags severely where my wife and I sleep, so I thought this would add to our comfort and alleviate some back pain, and it has to a large extent (hence the 3 stars). No more waking up with my arm asleep under the pillow which is very nice. But the extra padding around my feet and upper body, combined with a saggy mattress just mean that now my rear end is an extra 3 inches down below my head and feet like I am in a hammock. Even with a very pricey doubleside pillow top mattress I was having trouble getting comfortable. I reluctantly decided to try this mattress even though I thought it was probably all hype. I was Wrong! this was a great purchase for me. Incredibly comfortable, I suggest not cheaping out by buying a less dense mattress than this one.
